God's Right Hand
God's Right Hand is intended to strengthen and reinvigorate volunteering at the Church of St. Michael and help create a stronger faith community. Your pledge of time and talent to our parish family is as important as your financial pledge. Volunteers are an integral part of our worship services, pastoral outreach, youth ministries and faith-building efforts. They help us carry out and live our faith by building up the Body of Christ. We hope more people will come to experience the joy of sharing their time and talents. All that is required is love for God. Join his force. Join God's right hand. Our parish family is blessed with many dedicated volunteers, but we need more! If you are not yet involved at St. Michael, this is your invitation. Please call the Parish Office at 439-4400 to request a Time and Talent survey and to learn more about volunteering. Guidelines for FundraisersVolunteer OpportunitiesVideo Runner Needed: Our 9:15 a.m. Sunday Mass is taped for delayed broadcast on Valley Access Cable Channel 18. This broadcast is a service to our homebound parishioners who depend on it for their Sunday worship. Each week a volunteer picks up the video tape from the Sacristy and delivers it to the Channel 18 offices by Fresh Fields on Highway 36. If you drive past there on a Sunday, please consider calling the Parish Office at 439-4400 to help. This doesn’t take long but it’s an invaluable service to our homebound.St. Vincent de Paul Society: How do we help? On behalf of the parish community we assist these neighbors on a person-to-person basis. The help we give is often food, clothing, rent, emergency lodging, utility bills, and sometimes it’s just listening. Can we use your help? Yes. Be an Active member! The person-to-person nature of our assistance gives us a wonderful opportunity to exercise our Christian calling in a concrete, practical way. It is a most rewarding experience. Please contact Leann Kaufenberg at the parish office if you have an interest in becoming active in our St. Vincent de Paul Society. We meet two times each month, for about an hour, and we typically make several visits a month. Be an Associate member! Many people cannot make a full time commitment to attend our meetings or to routinely make visits. However, as Associate Members, they participate whenever they can help or join us in special projects. Be a Contributing Member! We also need assistance from our tri-parish community to financially support our works. Contributing members help fund our charitable works through their generous donations. Poor boxes are located in St Michaels. For further information contact Leann Kaufenberg at 439-4400.
